Getting appropriate cards when playing Texas hold’em can provide you with a definite advantage. Being appropriate allows cards that under normal circumstances may well be thrown in the muck to suddenly become playable.

Hands like Queen Tens, JTs, Ten Nines, 98s, Eight Sevens, Seven Sixs, or even King Nines, Q9s, J9s and so can be played in late position when the pot is sure to be multiway, and have a much far better probability of succeeding compared to their unsuited counterparts.

You might be asking yourself, is there actually that huge of a distinction between K9 suited, and K9 offsuit. The answer is often a definite YES!

Even if the distinction of winning only changes from say 16 percent to twenty per-cent, this isn’t just a 4 percent increase, except can be a twenty five per-cent increase! The value of being able to generate a flush can turn a loss into a win. Even in pots with 6 or 7 persons engaged, a flush will usually be very good enough to win you the pot. While flushes don’t come in usually, when they do the rewards is usually enormous.

An additional benefit to suitedness is obtaining redraws in situations like when you may well only have 1 pair. In these scenarios, your holding is extremely susceptible to someone else producing a bigger pair or creating 2 pair or improved on the turn or river. Having suited cards can usually offer you the chance to generate a flush even when your one pair is drawn out on, and still win the pot.

Another thing to think about in multiway pots is that with much more men and women included, the likelihood of one or far more of them owning suited cards goes up. This puts an unsuited hand at a disadvantage that a suited hand wouldn’t face. Wagering hands like Q8 or Ace five in big multiway pots gives your competitors a huge head start if they hold suited cards. This is a significant starting gap to overcome that sometimes even the greatest gamblers aren’t able to do.
