Mrs. Duke might not have earned her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is one of the most feared poker competitors around the cash games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s longawaited World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha high-low.

While players from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy after a large win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of card competitors. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who educated her how to compete in the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has captured her cut of hard tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both players that have the capability to win the huge bucks and do so with a smile.

Annie Duke is a strong competitor at any table because she is a natural poker player, but it is a little more than just being strong at the game. Mrs. Duke is surprisingly intelligent and graduated from Columbia U where she double majored in Psychology and English.

When you are seated across from Annie at the poker table you’ll see Annie is there to compete in the game and she begins "summing" you up as soon as you join the poker table. If you can not play like a winner, then don’t waste your time.

Acquiring over three million dollars in tournament play, Annie Duke became a consultant to both the UltimateBet poker room and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to enhance his skills and grow into a force at the poker table.

You might see her at the Bellagio, you’ll notice her on TV and you may even participate against her in an online poker game, but do not count on a simple win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not beat her. Although, it would be exciting to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
