Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the western in a great game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler versus the house, unlike most other poker games that players bet with other players. By betting against the dealer, beginner players don’t have to fret about other, more advanced individuals taking their $$$$.

An additional Pai Gow advantage is the generally slow game play, beginners are able to take their time and scheme while not having to make frenzied choices.

It’s also much simpler to play for a long time with only a tiny amount of cash after all, to not win, each of your hands must be lower than both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards face up and the dealer is given 7 cards face down.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the houses.
